|Business ADSL Xpress
The Business ADSL Xpress service has been developed mainly for the conservative business user who requires the assurance of an uninterrupted / uncapped and fixed cost ADSL service. The Business ADSL Xpress service is a managed service, where the service is allocated a certain threshold for a 10 day rolling period. If a customer reaches his 10 day threshold before the 10th day, his line speed will be halved (e.g. 512Kbps will be dropped to 256Kbps). However, if his consumption is reduced, his line speed will be restored to the purchased level. Where the customer is using a Telkom “Up to 4Meg” line speed and an IS ADSL Xpress GB service, the line will be limited to 512K when the threshold is reached.
IS will lift the limitation after hours (20:00 – 08:00) and over weekends, where the customer will be open to use the full line speed during this time. The usage during this time will be counted as part of their 10 rolling day threshold.
This mechanism has been put in place to discourage abuse of the service and thereby giving the “conservative business user” a more superior service.
Please note that only one con-current connection will be allowed at any time, IS will disconnect any additional users attempting to connect.
