World Bank Project

Come Alive was awarded the GAMET HIV Monitoring & Evaluation Resource Library project which began in May 2007.

After an international tendering process, we were delighted with the confirmation of being awarded such a high profile project.

We, together with the IX Group, managed to achieve specific “search” functionality which none of the other tendered candidates could develop, and was the initial reason this project was sent out worldwide for tender. Not only was Come Alive proud of being selected, it gave us the platform to showcase South Africa's skill, talent and business ethic in the IT arena, to the rest of the world.

In May 2007, the preparations, development and project planning were well under way and the start to a very demanding and focused project ahead. Our team which consisted of 11 staff, all worked round the clock in producing a tool that would be distributed to thousands of doctors, nurses and medical staff world wide.

A new content management system with total dynamic functionality catered for future growth, online access to edit and maintain all data, allow for exporting to create an offline copy (Flash Disk), multiple languages which automatically created required pages, Wysiwigs and fields, uploading and managing of all types of documents and images. And this was only the backend.

The front end was designed with the end user in mind, creating an easy to use functional platform that catered for novices to the more advanced users. The impressive flash startup allows the user to click to any part of the HIV M&E Resource Library at a glance.

We received the thumbs up at various World Bank project review committee meetings and conferences where the system was presented. Recently we sent the final product on flash disks, loaded and presented in branded packaging that met the World Banks environmental impact policy requirements, to their main conference held in France this month (beginning December 2007).

It was this conference that we received great applause and comments from the World Bank Project Team which commended us on successfully handing over The GAMET HIV M&E Resource Library which will be distributed and used by medical staff worldwide.
