Changing your SMTP outgoing server setting

Microsoft Windows
Outlook 2003

  • Click on the Tools option in the top toolbar – A drop down menu will appear
  • Click on the Email Accounts option - The Email Accounts pop up window will open
  • Select the View or change existing e-mail accounts radio button and click the Next button – A list of your email accounts will be shown
  • Double click on the Account that needs to be changed – The edit accounts screen as shown below will be displayed
  • Enter be.comealive.co.za in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box
  • Click the Next Button
Outlook 2007
  • Click on the Tools option in the top toolbar – A drop down menu will appear
  • Click on the Account Settings option – The Account Settings pop up window will open
  • Double click on the Account that needs to be changed – The edit accounts screen as shown below will be displayed

  • Enter be.comealive.co.za in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box
  • Click the Next button
Outlook 2010
  •  Click on the File tab in the tool bar – An Account Information page will be displayed
  • Click on the Account Settings drop down arrow – An action box will be displayed
  • Click on the Account Settings action box – An Account Settings screen will open
  • Double click on the Account that needs to be changed – The edit accounts screen as shown below will be displayed
  • Enter be.comealive.co.za in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box
  • Click the Next button
Netscape Mail
  • Click on the Local Folders option in your mailbox menu – The Account Information page will be displayed
  • Click on the View settings for this account link – A Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings pop up box will be displayed
  • Click on the Outgoing Server (SMTP) option in the left menu – The Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings screen as shown below will be displayed
  • Enter be.comealive.co.za in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box
  • You will be prompted for your password when you send your first email with the new settings
Lotus Notes
  • Click on the File option in the top toolbar – A drop down menu will appear
  • Click on the Preferences option – The Preferences pop up window will open
  • Click on the Accounts option in the left panel – The edit accounts screen as shown below will be displayed
  • Double Click on the Outgoing Internet Mail option – The screen shown below will be displayed
  • Enter be.comealive.co.za in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box
  • Click the OK button
  • Click the OK button
Thunderbird
  • Click on the Tools option in the top toolbar – A drop down menu will appear
  • Click on the Account Settings option -The Local Folders pop up window will open
  • Click on the Outgoing Server (SMTP) option in the left hand menu – The edit accounts screen as shown below will be displayed
  • Click on the Server Name that is to be changed, and then click the Edit button – New window shown below will be displayed
  • Enter be.comealive.co.za in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box
  • Click the OK button – The advanced screen will close
  • Click the OK button – The Accounts screen will close
Windows Live Mail
  • Click on the Drop down Arrow option in the top toolbar – A drop down menu will appear
  • Click on the Options option – A sub menu will open
  • Click on the Email Accounts option in the sub menu – The edit accounts screen as shown below will be displayed
  • Click on the Account that is to be changed, and then click the Properties button – New window shown below will be displayed
  •  Click on the Servers tab
  • Enter be.comealive.co.za in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box
  • Click the Apply button
  • Click the OK button
Apple Mac
Entourage 2008
  • Click on the Entourage option in the top toolbar – A drop down menu will appear
  • Click on the Account Settings option -The Accounts pop up window will open
  • Double click on the Accounts you need to change – The edit accounts screen as shown below will be displayed
  • Only the Sending Mail settings are to be changed, so enter the be.comealive.co.za in the SMTP server text box
  • Click the OK button
  • Click the Red X button
Mac Mail
  •  Click on the Mail option in the top toolbar – A drop down menu will appear
  • Click on the Preferences option – The preferences pop up window will open
  • Click on the Accounts button – The accounts information as shown below will be displayed
  • Only the Outgoing SMTP settings are to be changed, so click the drop down arrow list highlighted – A drop down list will be displayed
  • Select the Edit SMTP Server List option – Server account information will be displayed
  • Select the server you wish to change (there will usually only be one option) – The current information will be displayed as shown below
  • Enter be.comealive.co.za in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box
  • Click the OK button – The screen will close
  • Click the Red x in the top left of the screen – A pop up confirmation screen will be displayed
  • Click the Save button to save your changes
Opera
  • Click on the Tools option in the top toolbar – A drop down menu will appear
  • Click on the Mail and Chat Accounts option – The Manage Accounts pop up window will open
  • Click on the Mail Account that needs to be changed and click the Edit button – An Account Properties window as shown below will be displayed
  • Click on the Servers tab – The incoming and outgoing SMTP servers screen will be shown
  • Enter be.comealive.co.za in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box
  • Click the OK button – The Accounts screen will close
Post Box
  • Click on the Tools option in the top toolbar – A drop down menu will appear
  • Click on the Account Settings option – The Local Folders pop up window will open
  • Click on the Outgoing Server (SMTP) option in the left hand menu – The edit accounts screen as shown below will be displayed
  • Click on the Server Name that is to be changed, and then click the Edit button – New window shown below will be displayed
  • Enter be.comealive.co.za in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box
  • Click the OK button – The advanced screen will close
  • Click the OK button – The Accounts screen will close
Thunderbird for Mac
  • Click on the Tools option in the top toolbar – A drop down menu will appear
  • Click on the Account Settings option – The Local Folders pop up window will open
  • Click on the Outgoing Server (SMTP) option in the left hand menu – The edit accounts screen as shown below will be displayed
  • Click on the Server Name that is to be changed, and then click the Edit button – New window shown below will be displayed
 
  • Enter be.comealive.co.za in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box
  • Click the OK button – The advanced screen will close
